What an incredible photo taken recently at Kisampa by @jackswynnsta!! 📸
In the last couple of years we have seen a great increase in elephant activity and sightings. We are happy that they consider Kisampa a safe place to come too and call their hom
A very exciting moment: our first clear capture of the Zanj elephant shrew on camera!! Elephant shrews are part of the little 5, which also includes the leopard tortoise🐆, ant lion🦁, buffalo weaver🐃 and rhino beetle🦏.

Leopard🐆 and honey badgers🦨 on the most recent camera trap photos. So good to see these elusive animals are active during the day too!

Kisampa has change significantly after the recent heavy rains, especially areas around the permanent Wami river, and seasonal sand river Lusangazi. Lusangazi has been wash clean and left with beautiful white sand. •

Reptiles🐍, amphibians🐸, insects🦋, mammals🐒; so many of them can be found on the conservancy. Can you spot the animal on the last picture??

First if all, we are extremely thankful for all the support we have recieved so far for the fundraiser!! 🤗We have almost reached 10,000$ and could not have done it without all of you! You can still access the fundraiser via the link in the descripti
Please take a moment to have a look at the link in the description if you can. 👆Your contribution can help support Kisampas’ staff and wildlife through these tough times.

A HUGE thankyou to everyone who has contributed and shared our mission so far!! With the money raised, we can keep all the staff on for more than two months to come! We can not begin to explain our gratitude; it is incredible how one place can bring
Dear friends of Kisampa,
It will come as no surprise that Kisampa (as well as many other community based conserved areas) is seriously struggling without the support of people who visit. With this in mind we are here to ask you whether you, or anyone
An incredible encounter recently at the anti-poaching camp!😍 We are so lucky to be able to live alongside these beautiful animals thriving in their natural habitat.

Memory Monday! As briefly mentioned in a previous post; Lucky the Red Duiker. This is Luckys’ story: Luckys’ mum was caught and killed by baboons near the camp and the Kisampa team decided that his chances of survival were slim if nothing
Some photos perfectly capturing the stunning scenery! Golden hour has never looked so good😉

Some recent photos at Kisampa. The rains have transformed the conservancy into wetlands, making it hard to get anywhere by car💦🌱 Luckily a visit to the village was still possible!

Two Kisampa rescues meeting each other for the first time.🍃 Lucky the Red Duiker and FlimFlam the Red-bellied coast squirrel. Not too many similarities between them, apart from colour ofcourse!

Lusangazi; what most of us know as a sand river normally, now flowing with all the recent rains. •

Check out these cool little critters! They were found in the Zaraningi forest, that neighbors Kisampa, and we think they are Tree Frogs. These little ones range from just 12-110mm in body length!

With an increase in animals comes an increase in animal activity. 🐾Tracks of a small antelope or monkey do not make a big difference, but in this case; what used to be a road has now become a highway for something other than cars!
What do you think
The newest addition to the anti-poaching efforts: an outboard motor🚤
Before, monitoring human and wildlife activity close to the river was a stuggle; the current was often too strong to paddle against and river banks were hardly accesable by foot o
In addition to all the camera trap sightings, there have been lots of ‘live’ sightings around camp. The ones getting increasingly curious; Colobus monkeys🐒 How cute is this little baby!
Have you been lucky to see any of these animals aro
